Phil Hellmuth is getting into the Christmas spirit by tipping the staff wherever he goes.

The American tournament star tweeted that he was handing over $100 to every employee he saw at the Aria Casino, Las Vegas. It also didn’t end there. Hellmuth is determined to press his #POSITIVITY outlook during these difficult times.

Phil Hellmuth Gets into the Christmas Spirit

Phil Hellmuth’s generosity was well-received by his Twitter followers, including other wealthy  names from the poker industry. Bill Perkins says he is quintupling his usual tips, and considers that hazard pay in the service industry.

None other than Erik Seidel also chimed in to offer to match Hellmuth’s giveaway up to the value of $10,000, in connection with the DoubleUpDrive initiative.

Hellmuth responded:

“I am so impressed with the https://doubleupdrive.com initiative! I’m going to donate $10,000 to Second Harvest Food Bank, and $50,000 to another charity. Happy to have them match $10,000 for both #POSITIVITY”

Of course, not everybody was feeling as positive as Hellmuth. One follower responded:

“You have amazingly long arms that must be tired from patting yourself on the back. People usually give to feel good about helping others out, you are doing it just to help your own ego.”

You can’t please everybody, it seems!

Phil Hellmuth to Appear on New Season of High Stakes Poker

The long wait for the reboot of High Stakes Poker ended this week. Season 8 episode 1 featured a great line up that included Tom durrrr Dwan and Bryn Kenney. Kenney now holds a massive lead on the all-time tournament winners list with more than $56 million in prize money.

Phil Hellmuth still sits in a respectable 21st place with $24 million, but is his cash game prowess up to scratch these days?

Hellmuth is a fantastic tournament player, no doubt about it, but back in the day his peers would tease him mercilessly about his ability in deep stack cash games. Maybe the last decade has seen many improvements that we will get to witness very soon.
